Funnel Cake Spot: Fair Food Fun in Jacksonville

Do you wish you can have fair food whenever you are craving it? Well, if you’re in Jacksonville, you’re in luck! Funnel Cake Spot has all of your favorite fair foods and more.

Kaila, the owner, actually started this business due to craving funnel cakes while pregnant. She wanted to create a space where those can enjoy the fair staples whenever they want. Funnel Cake Spot has a location at 5913 Merrill Road in addition to a food truck. This dessert spot also caters, so if you would like to have sweet treats at your event, be sure to contact this business.

Aubree and I visited this dessert shop to try some of their menu items. Spoiler alert: we loved everything!

This store is easy to spot with the adorable pink school bus food truck parked out front. Upon entering, all of the walls are painted pink, and there is cotton candy on display. We could not get over how cute this place is! If you are looking for a girl’s day out or a mother/daughter date, this is the spot.

First up on our tasting adventure was the Strawberry Cheesecake Funnel Cake. There are so many different toppings offered, but we went with the owner’s recommendation.

I will be completely honest: I am not a fan of fair food. If anything is overly sweet or greasy, my stomach will forever hate me. However, Funnel Cake Spot somehow makes their food absolutely delicious! I’m not sure if it was the fresh strawberries on top or how the funnel cake was cooked, but I ate many bites of this and have been craving more for several days.

Next on our list were the Fried Golden Oreos, a classic fair staple. With the option to choose between chocolate or golden Oreos, we opted for the latter, as this option is not typically offered. This was so soft and fluffy, and the Golden Oreos paired nicely with the Fried Snickers.

As a chocolate enthusiast, I knew I was going to absolutely love the Fried Snickers. The first bite confirmed everything I already knew. It was so warm and gooey, with a nice crunch from the peanuts inside the chocolate bar.

Lastly, no fair food feast would be complete without a savory treat to balance out the sweetness. We finished with Chili Cheese Nachos, which were topped with spicy chili and oozing with melted cheese. Aubree and I inhaled these during our visit, and these were so good that I ended up ordering a second round to take home to my husband, because he had to try them.

What truly sets The Funnel Cake Spot apart is its versatility. Whether you’re in the mood for something sweet or savory, they have you covered. And with both a food truck and a physical location, there are multiple options to order from here if you live in the southern part of Jax.

So, if you find yourself yearning for a taste of the fair, look no further than The Funnel Cake Spot. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you.

Don’t forget to check out their Instagram for food truck locations and indulge in the ultimate culinary adventure. In case nobody told you, calories don’t count here.
